Building Cost: $5.7 Million

 

Grades: Pre K-4

 

Square Feet: 24,383

 

    Now known as Bayview Elementary, the original building was constructed in 1918 and served as the first school in town serving all grades.  Additions were completed in 1936, 1954, 1961, and 1969.  In 2006 work to the building was again needed and in lieu of remodeling the 1918 and 1936 parts of the building were demolished.  In their place a 24,383 square-foot two-story classroom addition that included the following:

 

  • New Media Center featuring tall ceilings and a glass wall
  • Six new classrooms
  • New administrative offices
  • Two rooms for Rainbow pre-school ages 3, 4 and 5
  • Two computer labs
  • Beautiful clock tower to designate entry

 

 

The project also included the following remodeling

  • New windows in Kindergarten rooms
  • Existing classrooms converted into computer lab
  • Existing administrative offices converted into Special Education spaces, staff lounge, and 1st grade commons
  • Existing Media Center converted into SPED and 3rd and 4th grade commons
  • New mechanical systems
