Architects Rego + Youngquist assisted Delano Public Schools with the programming of their new school additions.  Though maintaining very different identities, Delano High School and Delano Middle School were consolidated into one building, sharing the auditorium and athletic facilities.  The addition of 20 new classrooms at the high school and 13 new classrooms at the middle school, including science and family consumer science classrooms.  Also, the district, high school, and middle school received new office spaces, workrooms and conference rooms.

The increased student population warranted the inclusion of gymnasium space into the overall building program.  The field house addition meets the needs of the district and community.  The 49,000 square foot field house incorporates bleachers for 750 spectators, six basketball courts, divisional curtains for each court, and an elevated running track.  Additional community oriented services and space include an aerobics room, multi-purpose room, classroom, and community education office.  All field house facilities have easy access to toilet and locker rooms.
